About the BDLI:
The BDLI - Representing a key strategic industry
The German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) represents the interests of a key branch in the German economy. With some 120 members, the BDLI represents a high-tech industry with a combined annual turnover of currently 14 billion Euro and providing some 700.000 highly qualified jobs. The aviation and aerospace industry is a motor for technological progress and bundles together almost all strategically vital branches. The results of R&D in aviation and aerospace and its singular technical know-how directly effect the development of a number of other branches. With this strategic importance, combined with high profitability, it produces and ensures highqualified jobs in Germany - almost like no other branch. And just as important, this industry joins the interests of foreign and international security policy with the interests of technology and industry.
The BDLI’s most important task is external communication to political institutions, authorities, associations, and foreign delegations in Germany while at the same time insuring internal communication to and among its members. The successful representation of the interests of our industry would be unthinkable without close contact to member firms. The BDLI is officially accredited in the Bundestag and fulfills a number of legally anchored obligations. Among these are hearings in preparation for new laws, participation in ministerial commitees, and hearings in the German Bundestag.
The BDLI is a member of The European Association of Aerospace Industries (AECMA) and the Bundesverbandes der Deutschen Industrie (BDI).
