COMPAMED is holding on to its position as international leading market place for medical devices

Almost 17.000 international guests, most of them from abroad, came to the halls 8a and 8b to find out about parts and components for the suppliers market. The Product Market “High-tech for Medical Devices“ organized by the IVAM Microtechnology Network in hall 8a was as well international as never before:

More than 10 exhibitors from ten nations showcased precision technologies, micro components, optical products and R&D and manufacturing services for medical devices on an area of 600m².

The experts’ forum attracted many visitors
The COMPAMED HIGH-TECH Forum, which was also hosted by IVAM in hall 8a, presented current technology trends of the suppliers’ industry and deepened questions about the showcased products. The big interest in the topics of the forum was reflected by a high number of visitors: approximately 1000 people joined the presentations about the medical market. Especially the session about “Printed Intelligence“ attracted an extraordinary amount of interest from the audience.
Personalized medicine and intelligent coatings
The exhibitors of the joint pavilion showed, for example functional coatings that are able to equip medical components with antimicrobial or biocompatible properties. Furthermore numerous sensor solutions were presented. With these, diagnostic methods can be used for personalized medicine and thereby, this technique can become more and more affordable. Apart from that, microsystems and -products were showcased, which were originally designed for other industries and which have enormous potentials for medical applications.
High level of satisfaction
The exhibiting companies and institutes were extremely satisfied, when departing from Dusseldorf after three days of trade show. “Almost all respondents think that the number of visitors in general and the quality of their leads is good or very good”, reports IVAM trade fair manager Orkide Karasu. “Again this year this high degree of satisfaction is reflected by the bookings for the year 2014.” Even before the COMPAMED 2013 started, the first companies wanted to reserve a booth for the year 2014 at the IVAM office. About one third of the exhibiting companies decided – due to their very good leads – already during the exhibition to participate again with a booth at the IVAM joint pavilion.
