Wireless Communication for MRI Environments

Technology
This wireless technology allows easy and effective communication with patients and between staff within the MRI environment, due to the avoidance of ferromagnetic parts. The key feature uses a high frequency wireless signal (2.4 GHz) for communication. That frequency does not interfere with the MRI systems and therefore a negative impairment of MRI functionality is prevented. This enables unobstructed communication with the patient in an MRI scanner, which is crucial to MRI-guided interventions.
Benefits:

Wireless

High quality audio communication

Allows communication with patient and between staff

IP Rights
US Patent Application US 13/513,143 filed on October 15, 2010; German Patent Application DE102009060109A1 filed on December 17, 2009

Origin
Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin
