Novel vital dyes for intraocular surgery

Several new dyes have been identified as candidates to stain the internal limiting membrane (ILM) as well as other tissues of the eye that need to be removed in other eye surgical procedures. Care has been taken to avoid possible toxic, carcinogenic or teratogenic properties of these substances.
