CL-DCT: Low-Power Implementation of the Discrete Cosine Transformation
The Cordic-Loeffler-DCT (CL-DCT) is an implementation of
the Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) based on the Loeffler method. Utilizing CORDIC structures instead of multiplications, it only requires shift and add operations. While maintaining transformation quality, the required chip space and power consumption for graphic VLSI devices thus can be reduced by up to 50%.
