[L²C²-PWMC] – Power supplyfor ultrasonic devices
The concept of the LLCC-PWM-Converters (L²C²-PWMC)
combines a 3-level PWM-inverter with a LLCC-filter. The L²C²-PWMC is a power supply system for ultrasonic motors and other capacitive loads. The LLCC-filters can filter out disturbing harmonics, without variation of device parameters having much influence on the operating point of the power supply. It is even possible to use this power supply for the characterization of piezoelectric actuators, in contrast to conventional resonant converters. The use of a 3-level-inverter with a pulse rate and a PWM control has the advantage, that the filter inductors can be smaller than for a resonant converter at the fundamental frequency. This enables a more compact and lighter configuration than hitherto.
