Insecticide-free pest control of MedFly with transgenic Fruit Fly
The Mediterranean fruit fly (Medfly, Ceratitis capitata) is one of the most harmful food pests. Scientists at the University of Göttingen developed a new pest control: novel reproductive sterility system for the Medfly, based on transgenic embryonic lethality, without the need of radiation.
