Force Sensor

For many material applications the interaction of their components on the molecular level and their correct measurement and characterization is of high relevance for the functional efficiency and usability.

With the this approach the adhesion and friction in the technologically important molecular regime can be characterized non-destructively and label-free for many different material systems in various liquid media. The measurement is done for the first time in equilibrium. In this way adhesion force and adhesion energy for the molecule-surface interaction can be determined in a single measurement.
