Complement Factor H antibodies as an AMD-marker

A polymorphic variant of human complement factor H (FH-402) is an important marker for age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Scientists at the University of Göttingen generated monoclonal antibodies, which react specifically with FH-402. Therefor they can be used for the screening of individuals at risk for developing AMD.
