betois Münster – The Bending-Torsion-Insole-System from Münster

Many people suffer from pain due to poor posture of the musculoskeletal system. Such complaints may eventually lead to premature withdrawal from the labour force. Wearing the correct shoes can relieve the body, including through physiological guidance and support of the foot.

Thus, postural problems and complaints can already be prevented at the design of a shoe. In biomechanics, sports science, footwear industry and orthopaedic technology stress on the shoe has only been determined by plantar pressure measurement. Such measurement systems can only analyze uniaxial stresses, i.e. forces occurring perpendicular to the sole. The consideration of multiaxial stress states in the shoe and load to the feet is not possible with these conventional devices. A sensor that can detect more than only normal forces or their changes is therefore desirable.
