Infections with plant pathogens belonging to the class of Peronosporales (Oomycetes) – a prominent example is Phytophthora infestans – can lead to complete crop loss. Most of the commonly used fungicides are not effective against this pathogen. Novel substances are provided that show significant potential against pathogens from the class of Oomycetes such as P. infestans.
