Actuator Based on an Electroactive Polymer
The present invention is a novel principle for the use of electroactive polymers (EAPs). It is realised by a tubular device that contains the polymer. An electrical potential is applied by means of electrodes which are connected to the EAP. The expansion of the polymer and hence its tubular arrangement can be controlled by the electrical potential.
