A way to produce slow-release fertilizers from fermentation residues through encapsulation
The invention describes a way to encapsulate fermentation residues, enabling them to be transported and stored and used as fertilizers. Fermentation residues are dehydrated and ground, some auxiliary materials are added then agglomeration is carried out. The fermentation residues can be encapsulated in gelatine for instance. This process enables not only fibrous but also non-fibrous fermentation residues to be encapsulated. The biodegradable product can be used as a fertilizer directly. The invention involves encapsulating fermentation residues without separating the liquid from the solid and thus without loss of nutrients.
