Lasers as production tools offer a large potential for reaching these goals. Because of their spatially selective, contact-less and controllable processing characteristics, lasers are highly suitable for the production of sensitive components such as solar cells.
On May 25, 2011 the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, together with the consortium of the European project SOLASYS, is hosting a workshop about »Laser for Photovoltaics« in Munich. In conjunction with the »Laser 2011 World of Photonics« event, experts from science and industry will present the latest research results and current applications, technological challenges and processing solutions for the precision machining of crystalline solar cells. All lectures will be held in English language. Registration is open from March 2011. Please contact Dr. Schulz-Ruthenberg, Fraunhofer ILT directly (firstname.lastname@example.org).
