To coincide with Alzheimer’s disease being named a National Cause for 2007 in France, Association Internationale sur la Recherche pour la Maladie d'Alzheimer (AIRMA) has developed a new booklet to help increase public awareness about the disease and to provide useful information to caregivers and medical professionals.

The information-packed booklet, titled Learn More, Cope Better: What You Need To Know About Alzheimer’s, is an eight-chapter resource guide that is being made available free to AIRMA donors, the health and medical communities as well as the general public.

“Learn More, Cope Better: What You Need To Know About Alzheimer’s is a message of support to families touched by Alzheimer's disease,” said AIRMA Chairwoman Janet Michaels. “Alzheimer’s is an extremely difficult disease to deal with from diagnosis to death. By providing this useful resource, AIRMA is helping to make caring for an Alzheimer’s patient as easy as possible for caregivers and the medical community.”

The booklet features useful answers to questions about diagnosis, treatment and many other common issues faced by patients and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease. It also provides concise information regarding Alzheimer's symptoms, stages, risk factors, caregiver information and government resources, among other topics.

Additionally, Learn More, Cope Better: What You Need To Know About Alzheimer’s provides many useful tips to make homes safer for patients and includes numerous examples of stimulating activities to engage Alzheimer’s patients.

To receive a free copy, contact AIRMA at 01-44-88-16-35 or by e-mail at info@airma.org. The brochure is downloadable, free of charge, on the AIRMA Web site at www.airma.org (click on the “Resources” section).
