Employing the right person for the job is often a difficult decision. This is compounded by the need to go through hundreds sometimes thousands of applications from potential employees.
To help alleviate this problem, a team of psychologists from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) have developed iCompetent, a trademarked psychological internet based instrument for screening potential employees with the aptitude for the job.
It is a speedy and efficient tool which utilises theories and methods of psychological tests to unravel the hidden talents of individuals, which may not be very obvious from conventional face-to-face interviews.
iCompetent is an efficient computer and internet based technology, which enables organisations to conduct selection of the best candidates at the press of a button. The inner personal competencies of think-feel-act of job applicants that you are looking for can be quickly revealed, saving both time and money.
Furthermore, as it is an internet based technology, iCompetent allows for the screening of thousands of job applications from all over the world, 24 hours a day, even when the organisation is closed for business. The research team can also tailor the system to suit different company needs.
The system was recently purchased by The Sarawak Department of Public Service.
