CAFAC makes your rail rubbers fire-resistant

CAFAC-BAJOLET now offers a new service to help companies develop the use of rubber products across the whole of the railway industry, with the focus on fire-resistant product lines. The French company has been a specialist in the transformation of elastomers for transport industry manufacturers for 50 years. CAFAC showcased its know-how at the Innotrans trade fair in Berlin in September.

A high capacity for innovation makes CAFAC one of the leading fire-resistant rubber manufacturers in the market, particularly for rail applications. The rubber products serve as fireguards on train, by keeping flames from spreading from one compartment to the next. CAFAC represents an important link in the safety chain with obstacle detection or the use of sensors that make joints intelligent. The French specialist company is committed to providing the highest-value joint solutions in terms of investment and results.

CAFAC has all the traditional means of transforming rubber at its disposal. The company also has a sound engineering department with a proven track-record, which is the only way to effectively manage the diversity and complexity of the products manufactured. In addition to water-tightness and fire-proofing applications, CAFAC’s products can be used for bracing materials, motor connections, vibration filters, shock absorbers, braking applications, protection against harmful substances in the environment, deflection of electrical charges, and as pipelines to transport liquids.

“We have as many different applications as there are customers and their professions,” explains Mr Samir Osmani, Technical Director. “The strength of CAFAC-BAJOLET’s products lies in the highly specialized knowledge of the company’s people,” he points out, referring to the highly skilled staff working at CAFAC.

CAFAC has been a specialist in the transformation of elastomers for manufacturers of equipment used in the transportation of people, goods, loads, and energy since 1949. The French company numbers leading international groups among its clients, including French railway operator SNCF, Paris metro network operator RATP, Canadian-based BOMBARDIER, as well as engineering giants ALSTOM and SIEMENS, among others. CAFAC distributes standard products but also customizes its products to the client’s own specifications, when requested to do so.

CAFAC can claim that its rubber products are everywhere, and the specialist company’s selection of rubber products offers proven quality and top performance at highly competitive prices. Through the wide range of products that it manufactures, CAFAC plays an important role in the day-to-day life of ordinary people as well as across all industrial sectors.
