The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) has issued a call for entries for its sixth Award for Communication in the Life Sciences.

The EMBO Award for Communication is presented annually to a life scientist in Europe for outstanding contributions to the public communication of science. The award highlights the exceptional efforts made by many scientists to combine science communication with a full-time research career.

The prize consists of a personal award of 5,000 Euro and a handcrafted medal. EMBO also nominates winners for the European Commission's Descartes Prize for Science Communication. The winner in 2006 was Armand Marie Leroi of Imperial College London.

The conditions of entry and application form are available at: http://www.embo.org/awards/entries.html.

The deadline for applications is 30 June 2007.
