Intelligent Decision Technologies: Stimulating the Dialogue

Decisions must often be made in real-time under uncertain, stressful conditions that may change rapidly. Synergies between intelligent and information technologies can, for example, deliver artificial intelligence to enhance human judgment, perceive anomalies in data, enable collaboration, speed processing of new information, assist in risk assessment, identify and retrieve needed knowledge, suggest alternatives to the decision maker, and automate some decisional tasks.

IOS Press launches a new journal called Intelligent Decision Technologies which will serve as a forum for theoretical and applied research that combines artificial intelligence based in computer science, decision support based in information technology, and systems development based in engineering science. Interdisciplinary advances in these fields have the potential to significantly improve individual and organizational decision making. The journal is affiliated with the Knowledge-Based & Intelligent Engineering Systems (KES) International Organization.

Editors-in-Chief of Intelligent Decision Technologies are Prof. Dr. Lakhmi C. Jain of the Knowledge-Based Intelligent Engineering Systems Centre at the University of South Australia and Prof. Dr. Gloria Phillips-Wren of the Information Systems and Operations Management Department at The Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College Maryland, USA. “We look forward to the dialogue within this community and welcome new research for publication in the journal.”
