International Stem Cell Conference for Researchers Opens in San Francisco, June 16–19

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) prepares for the opening of what is considered the largest international conference specifically for stem cell professionals at the ISSCR 8th Annual Meeting to be held at Moscone West in San Francisco, CA USA, June 16 – 19, 2010, co-sponsored by California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).

The ISSCR annual meeting has become the preeminent meeting for stem cell researchers to present and discuss advancements in the field with the ultimate goal of bringing therapeutic treatment ever closer to patients. With 108 presenters and more than 1,350 scientific posters, the meeting provides an opportunity for researchers to view, discuss, collaborate and further their own stem cell research in this rapidly-evolving field.

This year is expected to break attendance records again with more than 3,500 of the leading stem cell professionals from public, private, academic and government settings from 48 countries. It provides a forum to promote and foster the exchange of research, featuring leading discoveries of the year, and serving as a catalyst for inspired stem cell research around the world.

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (www.isscr.org) is an independent, nonprofit membership organization established to promote and foster the exchange and dissemination of information and ideas relating to stem cells, to encourage the general field of research involving stem cells and to promote professional and public education in all areas of stem cell research and application.
