Process control system Simatic PCS 7 LAB for micro process engineering

The combination of modules of EMB’s micro reaction system creates a reaction plant performing chemical synthesis to develop solutions for the chemical, pharmaceutical and life science industries.

Specially tailored to laboratory requirements, the Simatic PCS 7 LAB monitors the processes of these plants; it controls, records and logs the relevant process variables such as pressure, temperature and flow rate. Thanks to an easy-to-use library, the engineering of the process control system becomes child’s play.

Technical information as well as parameter settings of the modules are stored as symbols in a library. To create an image of the plant, these symbols can be arranged and combined on a panel according to the plant configuration. Predefined functions and interfaces to external devices are already integrated.

“As a result of this collaboration, our customers benefit from the global-player expertise of Siemens: worldwide service and support, along with on-site user training”, commented Dr. Olaf Stange, managing director of Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS GmbH.
