New fail-safe CPUs for large controllers and distributed I/O

The Simatic CPU 414F-3 PN/DP for the Simatic S7-400 Controller has all the functions of the standard CPU 414-3 PN/DP and is suitable – when supplied with 2.8MB of RAM – for safety-related functions in the mid-performance range. The CPU has a 2-port Profinet and an MPI/Profibus DP master interface onboard, as well as an additional plug-in Profibus DP interface. The new interface module IM 154-8F PN/DP CPU for the ET 200pro distributed I/O with its high IP 65/67 degree of protection has functions and a quantity structure similar to those of the CPU 315F-2 PN/DP for Simatic S7-300, with a 512KB RAM, a combined MPI/Profibus DP and a 3-port Profinet interface.

The new Simatic CPU 414F-3 PN/DP and IM 154-8F PN/DP CPU support Profinet IO and CBA as well as Profibus DP, plus the new Profinet functions Shared Device, i-Device and Media Redundancy. Isochronous mode via Profinet and Profibus facilitates the fast and reliable exchange of data. Via the Ethernet the integrated web server enables information, such as status and diagnostics data or clock synchronization data, to be retrieved over the Intranet / Internet. Standard and safety programs can run simultaneously on the same CPU and the CPUs are programmed with the STEP 7 engineering system. The S7 Distributed Safety option package contains a library of TÜV-certified (German Technical Inspectorate) function blocks, including functions such as emergency stop or door monitoring. Both CPUs meet the high safety requirements according to the relevant standards EN 954-1 up to Cat. 4, IEC 62061 up to SIL 3, and EN ISO 13849-1 up to PL e.
