New electronic components for the retrofit market

Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) presents new electronic components in the Delta switches and socket outlets range for the retrofit market in the area of lighting and shutters. The new products include universal dimmer and shutter control inserts, conventional and wireless operator pushbuttons, and a battery-operated wall-mounted transmitter.

The "sys universal dimmer insert" is suitable for all types of lighting to 420 watts/volt-ampere connected load. The dimmer can be easily retrofitted with two-wire connections. It is characterized by a lamp-saving soft start and can be programmed to switch on to a predefined brightness value, and also features electronic overtemperature and short-circuit protection.

With the "sys shutter control insert", shutters and roller shutter motors can be controlled up to a connected load of 1,000 volt-amperes. Group and central controllers can be implemented by combining several shutter control inserts using the extension unit inputs. As well as enhancements such as 24-hour automatic operation in conjunction with the Delta "wave shutter" pushbutton, the sys shutter control insert offers a "wind alarm" safety function if a wind sensor is connected to the OPEN extension unit input.

The "wave UP 210" and "wave shutter UP 211" wireless pushbuttons for lighting or shutter control are attached to the universal dimmer or the shutter control insert. The wireless system is bi-directional so that the pushbuttons function as both transmitter and receiver. This means the inserts can be operated locally or remotely via the wireless link. In conventional wired operation, the "sys Delta pushbuttons" are used for the universal dimmer, and the "sys shutter Delta pushbuttons" are used for shutter control.

The wall-mounted "battery wave UP 110" transmitter is a wireless transmitter for remote wireless operation of room functions such as switching, dimming, shutter control, and scenic lighting. It is designed for installation in a flush-mounted switch socket. A single or double Siemens Instabus EIB pushbutton is attached as the operator interface. Power is supplied to the wall transmitter from a lithium battery.
