Heraeus Launches the new VARIUS® System

Heraeus Noblelight GmbH, a company within the worldwide precious metals- and technology organisation Heraeus, will be represented at SOLARIA 2005 in Cologne by its Original Hanau SunCare Division. Original Hanau SunCare is the specialist for tanning lamps and UV technology for sunbeds. At SOLARIA, Original Hanau SunCare is launching the innovative VARIUS system, a system which offers high pressure output in a compact and flexible package.

High Pressure in its Most Innovative Form

The VARIUS system is the latest stroke of genius from Original Hanau SunCare. The VARIUS system is a complete high pressure tanning unit. Thanks to its very small space requirement and simple fitting, the system can be flexibly integrated into virtually every sunbed concept. Thus innovative designs and tanning concepts can be realised. VARIUS offers manufacturers great flexibility and thus significantly reduced development costs. Original Hanau SunCare is showing the system and its first successful example of its incorporation into tanning equipment at the SOLARIA exhibition in Cologne.

“We have developed the revolutionary UV light source VARIUS from our position as technology leader in the tanning sector,” says Markus Berghöfer, General Manager of Original Hanau SunCare, “We work as a development partner with sunbed manufacturers and, with VARIUS, we have created a flexible and efficient high pressure solution.”

VARIUS, the complete high pressure tanning unit from Original Hanau SunCare, consists of five modules:

 A reflector made of special glass with an optimised interference coating
 A 250 Watt high pressure tanning lamp
 A filter plate
 A plug-in electrical connection
 A fixing strap

All components are precisely matched to each other. The sunbed manufacturer receives one compact unit and needn’t worry about all the individual parts being compatible.

Visions Become Reality In An Instant

VARIUS permits completely new concepts in sunbed design. Thanks to its compact construction and its small space requirement it is a very flexible piece of equipment. Specific foot-, leg-, hand-, face-, décolletage-, and shoulder-tanners can be produced. The new system can be integrated within tube fields. For example, a VARIUS unit can replace two to three tanning tubes in width and in the bottom section of the sunbed, several modules can be built in as a foot tanner. VARIUS is an effective alternative to spaghetti tubes as a face tanner.

The integration into sunbeds can be carried out at little cost. There is no longer any need for the extensive construction previously required for high pressure solutions in terms of a lot of individual components such as filter frame holders, reflectors, high pressure lamps etc. VARIUS is a self-contained complete system. Fixing is by means of a single clamp and only two drill holes are necessary. Electrical connection for the system is via a top quality plug connection. Suitable ignition and power supply units can be optionally supplied by Original Hanau SunCare.

Effective tanning surface and intensity are controlled by the number of systems and their spacing from the irradiated surface. A simple cooling of the whole system is sufficient. As a result, VARIUS is a Plug-and-Play system.

The high pressure lamp is offered as a replacement part via our dealers. Lamp change-over can be carried out without the need for special tools in much the same way as the change-over of all components.
