Did you know that specialty light sources are being used for water analysis?
Damaged ecosystems affect the quantity and quality of water available for human consumption. Today, 2.1 billion people live without safe drinking water at home; affecting their health, education and livelihoods.
Sustainable Development Goal 6 commits the world to ensuring that everyone has access to safe water by 2030, and includes targets on protecting the natural environment and reducing pollution. (Source: www.worldwaterday.org )
UV light for the disinfection of drinking water
Heraeus offers intelligent product UV solutions to treat water environmentally friendly, reliable and energy efficient.
Intensive UV lamps destroy microorganisms in this process, such as bacteria, viruses and parasites, and help decompose chemicals harmful to health.

Specialty light solutions for environmental monitoring
FiberLight® can be used for highly sensitive analysis, to identify and accurately determine environmentally hazardous substances, such as pesticides and other organic compounds. It is a very compact light source for UV light and the visible spectral region (from 200 to 1100 nanometers). The heart of FiberLight® is an electrodeless deuterium lamp, which is stimulated by high frequency. The construction of this miniature lamp enables mobile UV spectroscopy with portable, battery-operated devices.
