The interdisciplinary cooperative research effort is focused on complex macromolecular systems, colloids and organic-inorganic hybrid systems which are capable to organize into ordered structures of well defined form and size on different length scale. The organization and their manipulation will be accomplished by the balanced use of internal and external fields. The microscopic and macroscopic structure formation is dominated by competitive molecular interaction and manipulated by external fields. In some of the projects electrical and optical properties are of special interest.
