Numerical Simulation on Massively Parallel Computers

18.09.2003

Programmbeschreibung / Programme Summary

14 projects deal with efficient use of parallel computers for numerical simulation on problems in physics and continuum mechanics. In detail: parallel algorithms for quick finite element solvers in partial differential equations and resulting linear systems, waveletts and multiscale methods for boundary integral equations, parallel irregular numerical methods, simulation on multiphase flow, simulation of elasto-plastic deformations with damage and contact, simulation on multiparticle/disordered systems, relaxation methods for complex systems on thermodynamic processes, long time behaviour of dynamical systems.
