Global Methods in Complex Geometry

Programmbeschreibung / Programme Summary

Das Thema des Schwerpunktprogramms beinhaltet im weitesten Sinne die Frage nach der globalen Struktur komplexer Varietaeten. Der Schwerpunkt ist in folgende Projekte gegliedert, die wiederum untereinander in Beziehung stehen: A. Klassifikation und Moduli komplexer Varietäten B. Symmetrien und symplektische Methoden C. Algebraische Zyklen, Hodgetheorie und Fundamentalgruppen D. Evolutionsgleichungen und die Riccikrümmung komplexer Mannigfaltigkeiten. Methodisch kommen viele Bereiche der Mathematik zur Anwendung: reelle Analysis und partielle Differentialgleichungen; Differentialgeometrie; symplektische Geometrie; Algebra und algebraische Geometrie; Topologie. Daher ist eine intensive Zusammenarbeit der beteiligten Gruppen erforderlich.

The priority programme investigates the global structure of complex varieties. In particular, it contains the following projects which are connected in many ways: A. Classification and moduli of complex varieties B. Symmetries and symplectic methods C. Algebraic cycles, Hodge theory and fundamental groups D. Evolution equations and the Ricci curvature of complex manifolds. Methods of various fields of mathematics are involved: real analysis and partial differential equations; differential geometry; symplectic geometry; algebra and algebraic geometry; topology. These different methods require an intensive collaboration of the study groups.
