Programmbeschreibung / Programme Summary

Ziele des Sonderforschungsbereichs 374 sind die Entwicklung von Methoden zur einheitlichen Darstellung des Prototypwissens, die Entwicklung von Verfahren zur schnellen Erzeugung virtueller und physischer Prototypen sowie die Kopplung beider Bereiche durch neu zu entwickelnde Kooperations- und Kommunikationsmodelle. Für dezentrale Entwicklungsteams wird eine gemeinsame Wissensbasis generiert, die die Funktionszusammenhänge, die Qualitätsmerkmale, die Kosten und Fertigungsbedingungen sowie deren Wechselwirkungen abbildet. Über die Simulation und Visualisierung geometrischer Prototypen sowie physikalisch-technischer Vorgänge wird die schnelle und kosteneffiziente Bereitstellung von Ergebnissen ermöglicht. Der Sonderforschungsbereich besteht aus 15 Teilprojekten, welche sich auf 8 Institute sowie bei DaimlerChrysler aufteilen.

Objectives of the collaborative research centre 374 are the development of methodes to achieve a holistic representation of prototype knowledge, the development of new processes in order to accelerate the production of virtual and physical prototypes as well as the linking of both areas by intelligent cooperation and communication systems. The distributed teams will be provided with a common basis of knowledge, which can depict functional dependencies, quality characteristics, costs and manufacturing conditions as well as their interactions. The simulation and visualization of geometrical prototypes enables the rapid and cost-efficient production of prototypes. The collaborative research centre includes 15 projects. There are eight institutes and DaimlerChrysler which work on this parts.
