Molecular Analysis of Phytohormone Action

Die gesamte Entwicklung der Pflanze und ihre Interaktion mit der biotischen und abiotischen Umgebung werden durch Phytohormone entscheidend gesteuert. Die zugrundeliegenden Kontrollmechanismen werden in Einzelfällen höchstens näherungsweise verstanden, in den meisten Fällen jedoch gar nicht. Ziel des Schwerpunktprogramms ist es, die neuen methodischen Fortschritte im Bereich der funktionellen Genomanalyse, der molekularen Genetik und der Hochleistungsanalytik zu verbinden, um die molekularen Wirkmechanismen der bekannten Phytohormon-Gruppen zu identifizieren. Dabei steht die kausale Analyse der Wirkung im Vordergrund. Besonderer Wert wird gelegt auf die Identifizierung von Quervernetzungen der einzelnen Signalstrecken untereinander.

The entire development of a plant and its interaction with the biotic and abiotic environment is essentially controlled by phytohormones. The underlying control mechanisms are not well understood, if at all. Aim of this priority programme is to combine the novel methodological break-throughs in functional genomics with molecular genetics and high-performance micro-analysis in order to identify the action of the important groups of phytohormones at the molecular level. The causal analysis of the action modes are the main focus. Special attention is paid to the cross-talk between the different signalling cascades
