The funding is for Dr Aletta Norval and Dr David Howarth (both Department of Government) and Dr Ewen Speed (School of Health and Human Sciences) to organise a Network for Methodological Innovation Programme on Discourse Analysis.
This successful application arises from an ongoing inter-disciplinary Discourse Discussion Group hosted by the Centre of Theoretical Studies, involving the applicants and Dr Jason Glynos (Department of Government), Dr Alan Cardew (Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies), Dr Rebecca Clift (Department of Language and Linguistics) plus others.
The Discourse Analysis Network covers a series of seminars, master classes and exploratory workshops intended to establish connections between scholars conducting discourse analysis in different social science disciplines.
It is an opportunity to deepen interdisciplinary contacts between scholars in the UK and the EU with an interest in discourse analysis. It will also encourage cross-fertilisation between policy analysts and practitioners. More information is at: ww.essex.ac.uk/centres/TheoStud/networks_events.htm
