Bauhaus.SOLAR Award

This award for young talent is being advertised Europe-wide by SolarInput e.V. and Solarvalley Mitteldeutschland e.V. and is aimed at students and young graduates. It honours superb architecture and design projects which demonstrate the innovative use of renewable energy.

Entry terms and conditions

Students from all European design and architecture courses as well as young designers and architects who graduated up to two years ago are invited to enter the Bauhaus.SOLAR Award competition.

The submitted projects (designs and realised projects) may not be more than two years old and must have been produced during the course of study or at the most two years after studying. Official languages of the competition: German and English

Awards

The Bauhaus.SOLAR Award is endowed with
Euro 15,000.00 in total and offers young talented designers and architects the chance to present designs, projects and innovation to the public and businesses.

Dates/Competition process

The competition is planned as a 2 stage process.
In the first round written explanations and graphic representations of the design idea are to be submitted in A4 format.
The jury will select 11 works from the submitted entries for the 2nd stage of the competition, which will be nominated for the Bauhaus.SOLAR Award.
For the 2nd stage of the competition the draft is to be present on two display boards in detail.
It is to be submitted by data media.
1st round submission date: 30.06.2010
2nd round submission date: 15.10.2010
Jury
The international jury consists of architects, designers and representatives from solar industry and research.

Award ceremony/exhibition

The prize and the 10 runners up prizes will be awarded at the Bauhaus.SOLAR Award Ceremony on 10th November 2010 in Erfurt at the 3rd international Bauhaus.SOLAR Conference.

On this occasion the award winning designs as well as the 2nd round projects will be displayed in a special exhibition.
