German National Library of Science and Technology

As German National Library of Science and Technology the TIB specialises in all areas of technology and their related sciences, in particular chemistry, information technology, mathematics and physics. For decades the TIB has now been successfully fulfilling its role as an important source of information. WWith a stock of around 6 million items as well as 18.000 current journals, the TIB stands today as the largest special library in the world and one of the most capable suppliers of documents within its fields of specialisation. The collection´s strengths are conference reports, research papers, patent applications, standards, dissertations as well as specialist literature from Eastern Europe and Eastern Asia.

As part of the forward-looking expansion of its digital library, the TIB is constantly increasing its selection of electronic publications. Articles from journals and magazines, research reports and dissertations as well as other technical-scientific documents, are immediately available online.

Engineering Subject Gateway (ViFaTec), Physics Virtual Library (ViFaPhys), Virtual Library of Wood Technology (ViFaHolz)

As portals for engineers, physicists and wood experts the three virtual libraries ViFaTec, ViFaPhys and ViFaHolz offer structured access to relevant, high quality information such as internet resources, electronic and printes documents and factual information. Orders are processed through TIBORDER (vifatec.de; vifaphys.de; vifaholz.de).
