Fachinformationszentrum (FIZ) Karlsruhe is a non-profit organization set up to provide information and information services for academic and industrial research & development, as well as for business and administration.
In cooperation with its partners in the USA and Japan, FIZ Karlsruhe is operating the host STN International, offering public access to databases with scientific, technical, and supplementary business information. As European STN Service Center, FIZ Karlsruhe offers access to more than 200 electronic databases in almost every field of science and technology.
Formation
FIZ Karlsruhe was founded in 1977 when a number of scientific publishers and institutions in nuclear energy, aeronautics and astronautics, mathematics and physics were amalgamated.
Goals and responsibilities FIZ Karlsruhe provides scientific and technical information services for universities, scientists, economists, industry and administrative organisations.
