About the Academy
The Film and Television Academy (HFF) "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg is the only art college in the federal state of Brandenburg and the oldest and largest of the five media colleges in Germany. It was founded in 1954 as the German College for Cinematic Art.
Young talent are trained in ten different departments for futures in the media industry. In addition to providing training, academic objectives include the artistic improvement of television, video, film, etc. Additionally, aesthetic aspects of media communication as well as questions of production financing, production rights and cinema studies are investigated.
The new campus in the Media City Babelsberg, where the Academy moved in summer 2000, promises a measurable increase in synergy effect through an increase in the creative potential in the Media City, and through the optimising and intensifying of existing and future co-operation with professional partners.
