A university institute unrestricted by national boundaries! Even as a student you will be involved in an international transfer of information and technology. You will share the lecture room with young men and women from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and eight other countries, spend a semester with important companies abroad and become familiar with the language and culture of the countries that make up the Euregio Neisse. Our highly qualified graduates are much in demand on the international labour markets. As a graduate from IHI Zittau you will be ready to meet the challenge of Europe.
The International Graduate School Zittau (IHI) was founded in 1993. It is the youngest university institution in the Free State of Saxony and offers four degree courses - in Business Management, Industrial Engineering and Administration, Environmental Engineering, and Social Sciences. It is a pleasantly small institution, open-minded and liberal in a town where distances are short, where students and teachers meet without the length of the lecture hall between them. Individual guidance is a part of everyday life at the IHI, like participation in research and applications projects.
Short distances also link the International Graduate School Zittau with its partner colleges and universities: the Oskar Lange University of Economic Sciences in Wroclaw (Breslau), the Silesian Technical University of Gliwice (Gleiwitz), the Technical University of Liberec (Reichenberg), the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University and Mining Academy of Freiberg. The President of the International Institute Council is elected from among the Vice-Chancellors of these universities for two years at a time.
