Top marks for the university
Chemnitz University of Technology (CUT) is neither the oldest nor the biggest in Germany, but according to Focus, a national news magazine, it is the most popular one! That was the result of a national survey, in which Chemnitz students gave their university top marks for the quality of the academic supervision, the teaching and the facilities available. The computer magazine "Konr@d" also confirms this: No other German university is as well equipped withcomputers. While at the average German university 39 students have to share a computer (at some there is only one computer per 100 students!), in Chemnitz there is one computer for every 10 students. Another unique feature of this university is that for a mere five German marks per semester, the rooms in student residences can be directly connected to the Internet.
The career magazine Start also awarded CUT the accolade of second best university web site in Germany. It is thus not surprising that Chemnitz also heads the league in the number of surfers that click into its web pages: CUT registers a total of over 250,000 hits per day, which of course also pleases the Webmaster, who is responsible for uninterrupted surfing pleasure.
