Multiple-disciplinary and international:
Those have been the main targets of our study courses at the Berlin School of Economics for more than three decades. Founded in 1971, the Fachhochschule für Wirtschaft Berlin (FHW) - Berlin School of Economics has since become one of the largest and most distinguished academic institutions for business studies and post-graduate management education in Germany. The FHW Berlin is dedicated to meeting European needs for internationally-oriented business and management education and thus calls for a study concept that guarantees all students strong links to business life and professional reality.
We currently teach some 3,000 students from over 40 countries at the FHW Berlin, of which about 450 graduate each year with a “Diplom” (an equivalent to the BA hons.), a Bachelor or a Master degree.
The focus on a practical application of instruction and research is an outstanding feature of the FHW. Clearly structured modular degree schemes allow our students to gain sound general business and economic expertise complemented by sophisticated specialised education according to personal interests and skills. Thereby, every student can develop an individual profile of qualification.
Great value is placed on thorough student counselling. Committed to providing this pretentious education are 60 professors with a background in a wide range of disciplines, which not only take in the fields of business and economic studies, sociology, and law, but also computer science, mathematics, and statistics. In addition, the teaching staff consists of a further 150 lecturers whose practical, professional experience in business is highly beneficial to the curricular instruction. All courses of study incorporate a European orientation set within the framework of international understanding.
