Fachhochschule Offenburg

Founded in 1964 the Fachhochschule Offenburg became an impressive and prolific institution of education with about 1700 students. Thanks to the rather small size students and faculty can keep track of the department and contacts are easily made.

The basic studies are followed by the main studies during which the students can work on diploma thesis and applied research projects in economical, technical, social and environmental areas.

Due to the well-developed international co-operations with foreign universities the Fachhochschule Offenburg can offer instructive and interesting stays abroad leading to dual-degrees or doctoral theses.

Five departments offer eight study courses. The programmes of the departments Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process- and Environmental Engineering as well as Media and Information Engineering are located in Offenburg.

The departments of Business Studies and Manufacturing Systems Engineering are accommodated in a thoroughly restored ancient Benedictine monastery in Gengenbach.
