WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management

The WHU – Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management – is a private, state-accredited business school of university ranking. It was founded in 1984 through private initiative and, in turn, it fosters private initiative. It is supported by the non-profit WHU Foundation.

Business management increasingly requires that complex tasks be solved in an international setting. We strive to respond to the resulting requirements by means of initial training, continuing education and research.

In the internationally focused and practice-oriented diploma program, we prepare our students for management responsibilities in international companies. Our objective is not just to provide them with the tools needed for career success: Our educational concept also promotes a sense of responsibility for the social and ecological consequences of their management decisions. The WHU also emphasises personality development. Studies abroad at two of the WHU’s more than 130 partner universities deepen the students’ knowledge of other cultures and promote both flexibility and mobility. The general studies program develops their discretion in ethical considerations, as well.

In addition to this program of initial professional education, WHU is active in in-service management development. Together with Kellogg School of Management, we offer an Executive MBA Program for managers. Metro Business Program and other company-related programs, complete our offering.

Today’s 15 academic chairs and more than 40 outside lecturers – from Germany and other countries and drawn from the realms of academia and practice – are guarantors for the WHU’s practice-oriented teaching, flanked by independent scientific research. With around 300 students in the diploma program and about 120 participants in our MBA programs, we have an outstanding student-teacher ratio. Intensive lessons in small groups ensure that our students receive an excellent education within the scheduled time frame.

The personal, almost family-like atmosphere at the School is characterised by the fascination and commitment of everyone involved.
