The University of Hohenheim
The origins of the University date back to the year 1818. A remarkably high quota of foreign students throughout the 19th century established the early international reputation of Hohenheim. In 1967 the former "Agricultural College" was designated "University of Hohenheim" (cf. constitution).
The research activities of Faculties, Departments and other institutions at the University of Hohenheim focus mainly on:
About 5,000 students are currently enrolled at Hohenheim, with approximately equal shares pursuing study programs in natural sciences, agronomy, and economics and social sciences respectively (cf. degree programs).
Hohenheim Castle is the focal point of the university campus. Some facilities are also available to the general public, e.g. botanical and exotic gardens and three museums. Liberal art activities play an important role in campus life.
